Canva is a free design tool that makes it easy to create digital graphics—from social media posts and images to presentations and even landing pages. With hundreds of easy-to-use templates, Canva lets you upload your own images or choose from over a million stock photos, illustrations, fonts, icons, and layouts. Choose your image’s dimensions; drag, resize and move things around; add text; click save and download your file. It’s that simple! For bloggers looking to create Pinterest pin images on a budget, Canva is one of the best tools you can use since there are no monthly fees or contracts. Make sure you don’t have any copyright restrictions on your content before using it in your social media posts!

2) Photoshop

Photoshop remains one of the most powerful image-editing programs out there and offers a broad range of tools for creating Pinterest-worthy images. From its crop tool to its layers and other editing options, Photoshop can help you achieve just about any look you want. But that power comes with a steep learning curve—so it’s best to start simple. If you’re looking to create authentic-looking images on Pinterest, a black background is your best bet, but if your product or content looks great against white, you can use that instead—just be sure to highlight where color changes are made on your image in red or another color easily distinguishable from white.

3) PicMonkey

Though it’s not a free tool, PicMonkey is one of my favorite tools for creating images and editing photos. With hundreds of easy-to-use photo effects, overlays, and frames available at your fingertips (it also has stock photography and illustrations), you can create almost any type of image imaginable! They have lots of fun templates, too. I’ve used it to create social media graphics, holiday cards, website banners, gift tags, and more. If you haven’t tried PicMonkey yet, they’re currently running a special that gives you 50% off your first month on an annual subscription; with prices starting at $1/month if you sign up through my referral link!

4) iCanvas

iCanvas is one of my personal favorites. When it comes to DIY projects because of how simple and fun it is. The site has a clean, easy-to-use interface. Where you can upload your own pictures. Then turn them into cool designs that you can easily save as your own custom templates. The best part about iCanvas is that once you have your design, you can create an actual canvas print! If getting all professional isn’t really your thing, I highly recommend giving iCanvas a try.

5) Crello

Crello is a web-based image design tool that makes it simple to create great-looking pins. The program is free, and you can simply drag and drop images into your designs, which means you don’t have to be a designer to use it. Crello lets you add text, different shapes, and even animation if you want it. Users also give positive feedback about how easy it is to share their pins via social media or email when they’re done. You can also use Crello on your smartphone and tablet so you’ll always have access to your image editing options while you’re out and about.

6) Pixlr

One of my favorite tools is Pixlr. It’s a browser-based online graphic design tool that allows you to edit images with cool effects and filters, apply text and write effects, crop or rotates your photos, add borders and even work with layers. I especially like how many fonts are available in Pixlr—including free ones! The only downside is that it doesn’t have all of the advanced features available in Photoshop or a comparable desktop tool. But if you’re looking for something quick and easy—this is it!

7) PhotoFunia

The free online software PhotoFunia has all sorts of templates and backgrounds to choose from, making it easy to create a professional-looking image in no time. All you have to do is pick your template, add a personal message, then drag and drop your own images (or use their stock photos) into place. The program also offers access to filters that can be used to customize your photo’s appearance even further. It’s not just pictures of food, clothes, or other stuff — we used it to make custom Facebook cover images! PhotoFunia’s ease of use makes it a great option for kids or adults who aren’t looking for complicated design software.
